Online MBAs’ worldwide ranking

Online MBAs have gained pace in the past years with many high-quality business schools adding online or blended programmes to their offer. Blended programmes usually have a component of attending class, but limit this to doable blocks so that foreign students don’t have to travel too often.

The Financial Times ranks online programmes worldwide annually. The 2014 inaugural Financial Times ranking of online MBA programmes ranked IE Business School in Spain number one, followed by Warwick Business School in the UK and Northeastern University’s D'Amore-McKim in the US.
According to the newspaper it based its ranking on two surveys of the business schools and their alumni who graduated in 2010. FT’s ranking assessed career progression, the school’s “idea generation” and the diversity of its students and faculty. It also included two criteria specific to online programmes, namely how well the programme was delivered online and the level of interaction participants experienced with the academic staff.
